IATA PoCs test a shared event bus, interoperable AI agents and distribution identity

IATA published the Cycle 2 results of four Data and Technology proofs of concept covering a Kafka-compatible Global Data Bus, multilateral AI-agent collaboration, digital identity verification in airline distribution and contactless travel. The work targets fragmented point-to-point messaging, inconsistent trust between sellers and airlines, and the lack of a common way for agents and travel participants to exchange data securely. The paper includes reference architectures, security and governance considerations, and implementation findings rather than proposing a new IATA standard.
